Just had a great teleseminar with Bret Thomson of The Copywriting System.
I first met Brett at an Andrew & Daryl Grant 4-day workshop. He’s a very entertaining presenter. He told the story of how he went from selling bolts and screws to being a copywriter making $125,000 per annum in a very short period of time.
Having done that, he now teaches other people how to use the system that he has developed for writing copy.
We talked about some of the legal issues that come up for copywriters, and businesses using a copywriter.

Copywriters are creative and write compelling stuff. There is a fine line between making something sound great, and misleading the public as to what it truely is, or what it is truely worth. So we went through some consumer protection/ fair trading rules that copywriters and small businesses need to know about.
The we talked about copyright for copywriters. Who owns work done for hire and what they can do with it.
